We are thought of buying skydrive and store all the data's from share point to cloud.

The share point is set in such a way that it can be accessed only through VPN or you should be in company's internet network. So if we are going to put it in skydrive then can we access all the files through internet without being in company network?
if we make any changes to the files while we are in the internet in skydrive will it be updated to the file in share point when we connect with company network?
