My hotmail account in Windows Live  Mail has suddenly developed an error when accessing my emails on my PC (they are working fine on my phone).

It was working fine and now I get an error message  0x800CCCD3 saying that 'user is authenticated but not connected' and am unable to either send or receive messages

My current settings are:

On the Server tab: IMAP

  1. For the incoming server address: outlook.office365.com .
Selected Requires a secure connection (SSL).
Selected Authenticate using Clear text authentication
Correct email address and password and full email address *** Email address is removed for privacy *** entered.
  2. For the outgoing mail server address, smtp.live.com

Ticked the box for 'My server requires authentication'

On the Advanced tab:

Outgoing mail (SMTP) port  587.

Ticked the box for this server requires a secure connection (SSL)

Incoming mail (IMAP) port 993

Ticked the box for this server requires a secure connection (SSL).

I am using Windows 10

Can anyone suggest what the problem might be please?
