I have a DOD dash cam that records in 1080p. It records in around 2 minutes segments. I have taken three of these segments and downloaded into Movie Maker. Then I've edited the segments down from 6 minutes to one 2.5 minute movie. While following the directions to upload this movie to Vimeo, I have created a custom setting The setting on the Movie Maker video I have just created are:
Width 1280 pixels, height 780 pixels, Bit rate 8000 kbps, frame rate 29.97 fps, and audio 128 kbps, 48 kHz stereo. The ONLY setting the online Vimeo tutorial suggested I change was the Bit rate from 8000 to 5000 for HD, or 2000 for Standard. I tried it both ways. While I could save the settings, I could not save the Movie Maker video afterwards. The window appeared for saving the movie, but nothing happened up to a 5 minute wait time. I have a 2015 Dell Inspiron with Windows 10.
I'll be taking an auto trip in the future and I had hoped to capture scenes from the dash cam video and email them to family and friends. I've struggled with other video editors and Google Drive without success. Windows Movie Maker seems to bring me closest to what I want.
