You replied in a three-year-old thread entitled Restore deleted mail folder from Windows Live Mail file backup, started by a user with Windows 7, but you appear to have a different problem.
There are two folders one called Windows Live and the other is called Windows Mail ... the Windows Mail folder shows amongst others, three entries like account(65F7 etc ) oeaccount
Windows Mail is a different program (the one that is the integrated mail client in Windows Vista), and it's intentionally crippled on later OSs. Those .oeaccount files contain settings for some standard accounts that are included in Windows Mail (two LDAP email directory accounts and one news account).
I do not have a folder Windows Live Mail.
The default arrangement is for the Windows Live Mail store folder to be called Windows Live Mail and to reside in the %localappdata%\Microsoft folder. This is user-configurable, so there's no knowing what the store folder is called or where it might be. Mine is called D:\Mail, for example. You could search your computer for a file called Mail.MSMessageStore, for example, which is always present in the store folder.
Please explain what you're trying to do so that we can make suggestions for how to proceed.
I have lost all emails in storage folders ---outlook deleted I guess because these are "historical" emails I keep for records and would not delete. I noticed older emails missing from some folders...then I noticed all missing from others....some folders have emails only 4 months old that are gone. Anyhow, did chat with MS person---did not help--only recovered deleted and junk email
I DO have the Mail.MSMessageStore folder and it is not up to date but has dome older emails I'd like to get back.....I am using Thunderbird. how can I accomplish this?
thanks for any and all help
