Removed alias still not available after 30 days

Hi,

I had an account with my personal email address *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

I deactivated this account andI now want to add this as an alias to my main account *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, but it says:

"That email address is already taken. Please try another one."

It has been over 30 days and I am still getting this error.
