Original title: Hotmail account update, 2013

Just received an email from the messenger and skype team, how do I know it's not a scam/virus.

See below

Hello,

We want to thank you very much for being a Messenger customer.

As you may have heard, starting 8 April, 2013 we are bringing the great features of Messenger and Skype together, including your IM and contact list. (8 April is the first day that you may be required to update to Skype).

We know that saying goodbye can be hard, but don't worry. With Skype you can continue to chat with your friends as you did on Messenger, and all your Messenger contacts will appear in Skype when you update and sign in for the first time.

So, to make sure that you can keep chatting with all your Messenger contacts, simply update to Skype now.
