Recently purchased a new laptop and didn't like the "Mail" program included with Windows 8.1. Loaded WLM 2012 and set up my email accounts as I had them on the old laptop using WLM 2011. I have 4 "gmail" accounts and one "msn" account. I have noticed that on the "msn" account that I can't delete email messages from either the "inbox" or the "deleted" folder. I have tried doing a "repair" and also "uninstalling" WLM 2012 but neither activity has resolved my problem.
I notice that with the "gmail" accounts, displaying the properties of these accounts I have the following tabs:
General, Servers, Security, Advanced and IMAP.
On the "msn" account I have the following tabs when the properties are displayed:
General, Server, Security.
Since I have multiple devices using these same email accounts (desktop, laptop, ipad, iPhone, etc) I am pretty much forced to set them up as IMAP accounts and I'm ok with that versus doing POP3.
Any suggestions or comments on why the "msn" account acts in this manner?
Also, is there a simple way to migrate all my email from the old laptop to the new laptop without going through the pain of exporting and then importing? I tried that when I bought the previous laptop and lost about half of my folders. I have done the export activity on the old laptop and the directory contains
8.16 GB of data, 24,391 files and 220 folders.
