OT: Computer crash on re-start.

Have had WLM on Toshiba Qosmio laptop for about 5 years.  Noticed couple weeks ago that if WLM was closed down, it would not reopen...or would take several attempts.  Now, WLM may be open for hours, if it is closed and reopened, the infamous blue screen comes up with the warning that everything is shutting down.  The computer boots, I can open.....same thing may occur a few hours later!  Advice from anyone???
