The Black Screen of Death is back with a VENGEANCE.
So now that I'm about 7 or 8 hours into editing one of my videos, I have lost all ability to edit my movie, due to the preview screen and clips losing all display and appearing as blank black boxes.
I know this is a common issue, here are the current fixes I have attempted:
-Update device drivers for display GPU's: Intel Integrated Chip & Radeon HD 6770M
-Reinstall or repair Essentials 2012
-Install Codec pack (I am editing GoPro which is mp4 anyways...)
-Install VLC for additional Codecs
-Revert to 2011 (Cannot open 2012 video project)
-Set Switchable graphics to fixed instead of dynamic in BIOS
-Run SFC through command prompts (returned no corrupted windows files)
-Run "Media Player Settings"Troubleshooting from Control Panel
-Save video being edited to desktop
I am running a quad core hp dv6 (LMV332AV) and have edited several hours of GoPro video before.
My solution would have been to just publish the progress I've made so far and continue it in another program, but even when I try to publish, the final video file is all audio no video.
My newest edition to this problem is that Windows Media Player (WMP) can't even open its own video file type (WMV) such as the sample wildlife video which comes installed on the laptop, as well as it cannot play my mp4 GoPro footage, however VLC plays them both without hesitation.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
Chris
