My original photos were taken on my iPhone 5. I emailed each one to myself (as 2448x3264 file size) to save them in My Pictures on my computer (Dell Inspiron 14R Notebook with Windows 8 and Touchscreen). The pictures came through on their side in the email, which I thought was odd, but when I saved them to a folder in My Pictures, and opened them in Photo Gallery, they were upright.  I resized them to "Medium" (768x1024) for faster loading on my website. They still looked perfect in Photo Gallery, but when I uploaded them to the Go Daddy Media Gallery, they reverted to being on their side. I tried rotating right to compensate, but this didn't help. There must be a better way to do all this. At 60-ish, I have very little technical know-how, but I'm trying to learn!

Please don't laugh if this is silly, but do I need to take the pictures holding my phone horizontally instead of vertically? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
