Hi Vicki,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I would like to know some information.

  1. Which browser do you use?

  2. Are you using internet explorer and downloading photos from IE?

  3. Which operating system is installed on your computer?

You may refer to the steps given below to change the default location.

a. Open Internet Explorer.

b. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, then click on View downloads. (See screenshot below)

NOTE: You could also press CTRL + J instead.

c. Click on the Options link.

d. Click on the Browse button.

e. Navigate to and select the folder that you want IE to use as the default download location, then click on the Select Folder button.

f. Click on OK.

g. Click on Close.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other assistance with Windows in future. We will be happy to assist you.

It's still pulling up that Windows Live Photo Gallery as well as putting the picture into my downloads file.

I was trying to fix something else when this all started and I remember I was clicking at the bottom of the screen (where the choices come up "Toolbars, cascade windows, etc." and I remember come screen came up and it had pictures library choices and one of the boxes you could click said you wanted to put your photo into the Windows Live Photo Gallery and I clicked by that box and now the window comes up whenever I download a picture.

I need to find that box back so I can unclick it.
