I believe I have been attacked by some sort of virus because I now have over forty thousand images downloaded to my Photo Gallery. These pictures are icons of all sorts, foreign images, duplicated images of my personal photos. I have tried to manually remove them but it is very time consuming to say the least. Also what should I do to keep this from happening again?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.
