I bought a new PC and installed Photo Gallery in Win 8.1, because I've used Photo Gallery since Vista, then 7.
I imported all my data from my old PC running Win 7. After installing Photo Gallery and importing all my photo files into the program, I now find that some 27,000 photo files have had Date Taken changed to July 22, 2014. I believe this is the date I transferred my data or installed Photo Gallery.
I imported all my data from an NAS storage device. All data was copied directly into my new PC into the appropriate folders. I have had no other issues with data to date aside from this issue.
All my photos were imported into folders by Date Taken. Looking at my directory on my new PC, they are still filed correctly when viewed by folder. But for some reason, Photo Gallery shows the vast majority of my photos as Date Taken July 22.
One thing I tried, was using the built in photo viewer application in Win 8.1 to view my photos that way. The photos seem to be dated correctly in that program, so I'm hopeful that I won't be changing the metadata on 27,764 photos manually.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated. The only reason I continue to run a PC is for my photo and video files.
Thanks.
Rob.
