I have Windows photo Gallery 2012 build 16xxxxxx that runs on Windows 8

I am trying to scan my mom and dad's pictures after they passed away and there are thousands of them to do. I am trying to upload a few of them or in time many of them to Facebook and album's. Everything worked fine for a long time and now I get an error when I click "Create" then the Facebook icon and choose a folder once its logged in and it starts to upload the selected pictures and then errors out all the time:

The following problem occurred in Facebook object reference not set to an instance of an object (0x80004003) and a new folder will be created if that is what I wanted to do for the pictures transferring to FB but all following pictures are cancelled as to being uploaded and the error appears.

I have spent hours trying to Google an answer but with no luck

1. I tried to uninstall Photo Gallery and re install it but it picks up old settings and the problem stays there. Therefore Photo Gallery does NOT do a complete install. 

I am hoping that someone on this board will have some insight as to what to do as I need to start that function soon and upload pictures that have been identified and faces identified within Photo Gallery so family can see them and know who they are if I added the information. I use Photo Gallery to ID faces, captions and descriptions so FB will see at least the captions and faces ID's so I don't have to duplicate the steps online also.

If Photo Gallery will not longer work for me, I need to find a sight that can take the captions and faces that are identified within the jpg/tif files by Photo Gallery and store them online (free services) for family to help me identify the faces and what the photo's are all about (captions) for those I could identify and for those I can't I need family/friends to identify them and tag the faces, add captions etc. Ideally, the photo's could be in one place so any changes would be made to the same picture that I use on my PC so I didn't have to re enter the information to the master files within Photo Gallery on my PC, but can't find a good way to get this done.
