I'm running Windows Live Mail 2012, Build 16.4.3528.0331, under Windows 10 Pro.  Although no longer supported, I like this mail program.  I have it set for POP/SMTP operation for two email accounts, one Microsoft, one Google.  Both accounts are set up through their respective Web utilities for POP/SMTP fetch/send also.

Everything works fine, has been for years now, but these accounts are acting more like IMAP than POP/SMTP.  It was always my understanding that POP simply downloaded mail when asked, and would even delete it from the server upon successful download if asked to do so.  What I'm finding, however, is a sort of 'synchronization' between my PC and the email accounts.

If, for example, I download mail from one of these servers while the Webmail utility for the account is open in my browser, I see the mail transferred and deleted from the server.  Then I look at download mail on my PC and either delete items or put them in the Junk folder... on my computer, that is.  Then the next time the PC communicates with the mail server those messages mysteriously appear in the Webmail Trash and Junk folders as seen through my browser.  In other words, my computer is telling the MS and Google servers what was done locally with those messages on the machine, and Windows Live Mail is either kicking them back to similar folders in MS and Google servers, or duplicates are being placed in the server's folders.

Is my understanding of POP/SMTP off-base, or is something strange going on here?

I've had this email system for a while - I believe this is LiveMail 2011 - and in the past I have had my private and my business email accounts synced up and then a while ago my Hotmail account had problems and I uninstalled it and had to access it through a normal web page - not too long ago I synced it back up but was unable to send emails - I could receive them and view them - just unable to send them - I got bored yesterday and tried to fix that problem which then resulted in me uninstalling it and reinstalling .  Now this is the error message I get after five minutes of it trying to sync

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (xxxxxxx) account.

Server Error: 404

Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80194194

Since approximately August 1st, my Windows Live Mail has been showing emails as "Sent", but I have learned recipients are not receiving them.  I can still receive emails, just not send.  I have 2 WLM email accounts and both appear to not be working.  Ironically, they worked for a day or so (at least I think) and then stopped working again.  I have worked with my Wowway reps to confirm Incoming and Outgoing Server names, ports, authentication settings, etc.   HELP!

Good Afternoon.  I received an email indicating my subscription was about to expire and I would lose service unless I renew.

and

I also received a separate email confirming my account would automatically renew at the end of August.

What is going on?   Do you have two accounts set for me, or is one of the emails incorrect?   Hopefully the first one.

Please advise

thank yu

Split from this thread.

Verizon Email on Windows Live stopped working on 7/20/2018. I have checked all the settings and they are correct ...

I had this exact same issue last month. I've had random occurrences in the past where this would happen, but it would rectify itself within a few minutes, or hours, at the most.

I finally gave up on WLM after several days, and tried working from AOL mail, which is where my Verizon email migrated to. (I still have a Verizon email address and don't want to give that up.) It's just not a great program for business, so I tried using Windows Mail (the program that comes with Windows 10), and discovered it would download my mail, but it is also not great for business.

So I decided to try Outlook (2010) and low and behold my mail loaded in BOTH programs, so I have both running now. HOWEVER, now I have intermittent issues - sometimes Mail works, sometimes Outlooks works, sometimes they work together, sometimes they don't. It's all so RANDOM and FRUSTRATING!

Right now I can use Mail but not Outlook. The symptom is always the same, I either get a pop up  message from Microsoft (for Mail) saying my AOL settings are out of date or I get the pop-up box saying to enter my name and password (which are already set when the box pops open). The "save password" box is always unchecked, but even if I check it off, it fails, and pops open again unchecked.

The error message I get is usually 0x800CCC92 - rejected logon, try back again later, yadda yadda yadda.

WHAT IS GOING ON???

I refuse to pay AOL for support since I already pay Verizon a GD fortune, and since I receive my AOL mail with no issues, the problem seems to be Microsoft related. Is it because I still use a POP account and not IMAP? I'd never been instructed by Verizon to change the settings, but I know POP has been outdated for years.

I'm afraid to change anything else because I don't want to heap problems on top of problems.

I have upgraded to a new computer and have not had any success trying to install Windows live mail.  When I try to log in I keep getting an error code:  8004882a

I really like the Live Mail and would like to continue using it, so is there anything I can do to fix this?

I want to copy my work outlook files (Contacts, emails, tasks, etc.) to a personal outlook account. What would be the best way to do this?
