I wonder if anyone can help with what seems a superficially simple problem with Windows Live Mail.

I have used WLM for quite a long time, but this just seems to have come out of nowhere.

Retained emails are stored in numerous named folders, and previously access to these only required a simple click to open and view the full contents. However, about a week ago, this stopped happening. The folders are still there, but can't be opened.

All that a click now produces is the appearance of what was presumably the last item to be filed. So, trying to access old emails is almost impossible.

Also, when new emails come in, which they still seem to do without any obvious problems, no list of these is formed as was before.

I can still access new emails, but only one by one and without knowing who they are from until they are open. [Which in itself is not a good thing]

In these circumstance I can react with the opened email if required, but only in this one off opportunity because, as soon as I want open another, it gets lost into the inaccessible storage system.

I'm long time retired, so not as computer savvy as I am sure you all are, but should be able to follow instructions.

This is the message I received from Windows   "We weren't able to send this message, so we've put it in your Drafts folder. Before you try sending it again, you can check to see if the address is correct and that no attachments are too large".  I have sent a test email to myself and I received the same message from Windows.

When I open an email in WLM that has photos or graphics inserted in the email, some show up as correct pix but others are just a black x in a tiny black square. The preview panel shows correctly but opening does not. So I see some pix and not others.

If I forward these emails from web mail to WLM the pix appear as attachments and all are correct.

What can I do? I receive many photos for someone I help in his work.

Until yesterday, after downloading photos from a friend,  emailing photos through photo gallery is not working ,..once you select the photos to email and then click the downsize in the box which appears..... it will not *click* through to an email.     it also came up imap.Telstra.com:993 at one stage.     I realise this is legit but I thought I was a pop something or other.

I use this option all the time for years to send downsized photos by email.... what has gone wrong .... why is it not going to the stage of an email window popping up?

Thank you   Maggie
