Hopefully someone has experienced this issue and has a solution.
Microsoft updates are messing with Windows 8.1 and causing random crashes. I went through this last March was suspicious when the computer began random crashing right after installing updates. I uninstalled the updates and the problem was gone. Fast forward 5 months without installing updates, I was hoping Microsoft would have gotten their act together and the August updates might be OK. Wrong!
Random crashing again with event viewer showing the Event 41 message each time. Uninstall the updates again and still random crashes. But, I notice this time that with each forced shutdown and reboot - a KB update is getting installed without my permission. Uninstall it, specify later for the restart, go in and hide all available updates, important and optional, normal shutdown and restart, and there it is, another KB update that wasn't on the available list and I was unable to hide. I even specified "never check for update" and upon reboot of 8.1, MS changes my setting back to "check for updates but ask whether to install or not".
Latest update that was installed without my permission is KB4103725. Each time it installs a different one - KB 4457129, 4343898(twice), 4338815, 4284815, and now the latest one.
Frustrated 8.1 user. Machine is about 5 years old.
Just tried to start a movie for end of season tennis banquet. I have used the program for years. All of a sudden, most of the animations have disappeared. There is only 6 and there used to be alot of them. Anyone know what I can do to get them back?
Thanks!

I lost at least three-days work, because Movie Maker is not able to open a certain MM-project. When editing, taking screenshots and inserting them into the video suddenly the videoclips on the right side of the display started to "go blank". I pressed "save" and shut Movie Maker. I opened immidiatly Movie Maker again, and tried to open the project, but now a notice appeared that said (in Swedish) "The file can not be opened because the file is damaged or the file is not compatible with Movie Maker". Well, the video is made in Movie Maker, but I have inserted still-pics (screenshots from video and edited in Paint) and I have a feeling that it might have caused the "damage".
Is there any solution to the problems I face. There is really a lot of work behind the video.
Best Regards, Tony
Hello,
When I want to store mails in a file the text of the mail files is replaced by the text of an older mail of the same file.
All the mails stored have the same text and not the original text.
How can I solve this?
Hi
I cannot send any email from my hotmail at all. Receiving is fine.
When I do, I get an "undeliverable" email from the System Administrator - even though the sending address exists.
I have my own business so it's essential I can send emails.
I have now had 2 requests from Windows to verify my account due to supposedly 'suspicious activity' (ie. me sending emails from my own account! imagine!!) and I've done the verification code to my phone thing and it's made no difference. I still can't send a single email with or without attachments.
As a small business I am very frustrated by this and and considering cancelling my Hotmail altogether and using gmail instead. Can someone please help.
