I'm one of those people happily using Windows Live Mail for years who now has to switch to the Mail app in Win 10. I have two email accounts, and a large number of off-line storage folders for email. I have encountered problems with sorting both of these, grateful for advice.

Firstly, one of my email accounts (a non-MS account), I am told that I must specify specific ports for outgoing and incoming email. the Win 8 app apparently allows you to specify these, but the Win 10 app doesn't (see this guidance: . How do I tell the app which ports to use ?

Secondly, I understand I must transfer all my off-line data back into Outlook.com so I'm doing this folder-by-folder. Each folder relates to a specific topic and can contain mail from either or both email accounts. But the new folders must be in specific accounts and if (say) I get an email in one account I can't put it into the topic folder in another account. I don't want duplicate topic folders in each account, I want one set into which I can put emails irrespective of which account received the email. How do I set this up please ?

I have Windows 7.

When I click on an email link on a webpage I get the error message 'Wlmail.exe. The program can't start because WLDCore.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem'. I have repaired Windows Essentials but I still get the error message.

Hi Team,

Recently I backed up all my emails in WLM and did a clean reinstall of Windows 10 (64 bits). After the reinstall, I imported the backup file into WLM. However, only the folder list appeared while all the emails are missing.

As I did a clean reinstall, I don't think the Previous versions feature will work (correct me if I'm wrong please...). Can something be done on the server side to recover those emails, especially the ones in the Sent Items folder? In particular, there is an option in WLM saying "Leave a copy of messages on server". Does it save a copy of all the emails in the Sent Items folder on the WLM server?

Best,

Benny

Original Title: Windows Live 2012 Compatibility.

I received an Email that my Windows Live 2012 is not supported by the new Outlook.com.  It also recommends I consider "switching" to the Mail app in Windows built into Win 8/8.1 and 10.  Want to clarify: 1/ Does this mean my WLM 2012 will stop receiving and sending mail once the Outlook.com update occurs, June 30th, if I continue using Windows 7 after that date? and 2/ Can I use WLM 2012 and it will operate as it does today in Win 7 by upgrading my computers to Win 10 or should I switch to this new Mail App?  If so, where do you find out about the functionality of the new Mail App?  Thanks
