My outlook.com email had been syncing fine but on Saturday stopped working. The email app says it syncs and is up to date, but it's not as the web shows newer emails.

I have unchecked the sync email box, rebooted and then re checked it but to no avail.

I see it's a common issue and may be back end related.

I use a Lumia 1020
