I have changed my primary account aliases on my Hotmail account to @outlook.com. However after a number of hours I still could not access my emails and continually received the message:

Please wait a few minutes and then try again.

I urgently had to access my emails so switched my primary aliases back, however I still unable to access my emails. 

I have tried using other computers, etc but have had not success. 

As a side effect of this I am also unable to access my emails on my phone and have lost all my contacts.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
