I started noticing on my Macbook that my Broadband modem would disconnect for no reason, so I checked all the usual suspects:  USB ports, signal strength, etc.  What I discovered was, without fail, whenever I quit Outlook for mac, the connection would drop.

Looking through the logs, here is what I found:

2/12/14 7:11:30.368 PM configd[19]: SCNC: stop, triggered by (1160) Microsoft Outlo, type PPPSerial, reason User Requested
2/12/14 7:11:30.370 PM pppd[1088]: [DISCONNECT]

This comes up every time I quit, and is 100% reproducible.

So, the question is:  Why is this happening?

...or, I should say, How can I make this stop?

I'm using Mavericks (10.9), and Office for Mac 14.3.9 (I should mention this doesn't happen with other Office apps, just Outlook).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
-Doug
