I am having trouble uninstalling outlook 2003 to install 2012.

When I get to about 80% the 2012 install stops and wont let me continue, so I thought that 2003 was conflicting with the install so I tried uninstalling the program but that wont work either. I am open to any suggestions that anyone may have to resolve this issue. Thank you.
