I am not a computer master.  When I receive emails from others that have photos or other images as part of the message, more frequently than not there is a square that represents, I presume, the image.  Inside this square there is an upright rectangle that seems to represent a sheet of paper with the upper/right corner folded over with an open line that cuts off the lower/right corner.  Like this:
