my outlook has crashed and the database cant’t rebuild. amy advice?

my outlook 2010 run on mac has crashed and the database won't rebuild. reaches the last step and returns an error 'cant rebuild'. any ideas? any advise appreciated. tx - chris nairobi, kenya
