I have upgraded my Hotmail account to Outlook a while ago and although I do not like that the messages now are grouped as a conversation, I had no problems with messages disappearing, which happened today. I keep some important emails in my inbox for my easy access online or on my iPhone and today I noticed that I only have around 8 messages in my inbox, which is very troubling. 

What happened with my inbox and how do I recover my messages?
