I've had a Hotmail account since 2004. I stopped using it on a regular basis some time ago, but I liked to check in every now and then to get nostalgic over emails, photos, etc from my adolescent life (and my appalling choices of font colours for emails - pink and purple combos. For shame). Also handy for having a log of old emails and college contacts.

Just logged in to the new Outlook (no idea it had changed over) and my stomach fell - what if all my data had been deleted? Surely they couldn't do that, without any warning...then a little notice popped up saying 'All of your Hotmail data will still be here, emails and contacts and all that stuff' or words to that effect. Phew! Relief! Until I got to a completely empty inbox.

Inbox, outbox, and address book totally wiped. Nothing there. I've gone through these steps (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/outlook/recover-deleted-messages). Nothing. Fiddled around with settings. Nope.

I'd really like my data back. There was no warning of deletion. If there had been, I would have saved everything I wanted. When I did log in, I was reassured that nothing had been deleted. Which was completely false.

Microsoft team, please help me! You can't see it, but I'm making a very sad face at my computer right now.
