I see that many people have had an issue with this. Like them, I have lost extremely important emails: school work, schedules, work-related items. I am extremely technologically ignorant. I found this list of questions and will answer as many as possible
to help you give me knowledge.
- Can you please provide us the affected email address for further investigation?
- *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
- When was the account switched to Outlook.com? I don't know but quite a while ago
- Did the data loss occur right after Outlook.com upgrade or was the data still there for a brief time?
- Do you have any issues logging in before noticing data loss or did you reset account password? I did neither
- Did you click on any link before the issue occurred? Not that I am aware of
- Did you try to deactivate/close before the issue occurred? Definitely did not deactivate. I do not always sign off if that is what "close" means
- When was the last time you logged into your account? I log in often Multiple times before they disappeared and afterwards too. I was in an area that did not have much service. I used my phone from Sept 21 through Sept 26. I noticed it on the 25 but thought it was because I was in the mountains. My files are still there.
- Can you please provide us a description of the data lost (all messages before a date, date ranges, estimated number etc.)? I would say a lost about 2,000. I have 6 emails from 9/9/2013. I mostly use my Iphone 5 to see my emails but open attachments etc on my MacBook Pro
- Do you have any folders? Are they nested? Is the mail missing from the inbox or a folder? I have folders. THey did not lose their content. I do not know what nesting means. The emails are missing from my inbox.
- Are you seeing the missing mails on a mobile device or the web UI, or a mail client program? I don't know what a mail client program is. My mobile only keeps about 100 emails. I have it set up that way.
Does this help you help me at all? Like everyone else I'm in tears. My photos, letters from deceased friends . . . I hope you can help me.
