It's clear that there is a problem with MovieMaker communicating with YouTube and you can't upload directly from MovieMaker to YouTube anymore - whereas you could do so until recently.  The Microsoft support engineers have been spectacularly unhelpful in providing any meaningful response or solutions. When they do respond the answers are pretty much useless and don't address the questions being asked.  It's also interesting that they always ask you let them know if their "solution" worked - and when you do reply they just ignore you and never respond.

It's clear that there is a communication problem between MovieMaker and YouTube which has been caused by Google. When I raised this with YouTube in relation to the same problem that has recently developed with Cyberlink Power Director 13. The answer I received was at least enlightening. They said: "Yes, Google retired several APIs in the past couple of months that might be part of the problem, including the YouTube Data API. It's likely CyberLink needs to update their software."

Obviously the same issue exists with MovieMaker and Microsoft probably needs to update MovieMaker to take account of the new YouTube Data API. Surely this should not have been too difficult for the Microsoft support engineers to work out and tell users of MovieMaker.

So the question is: Will Micosoft fix this communication problem with YouTube and update MovieMaker so that it includes the new YouTube Data API. Surely that's not asking too much?
