Hello

I have imported .mov and .wmv files into movie maker. I see the video but there is no audio. When I play the videos in media player or quick time the sound is there. When I play them in photo gallery there is no sound either.

I have opened the speaker icon and opened the volume mixer and movie maker is listed.

I've also looked at the other options in the speaker icon and all looks fine.

Volume is at max

In edit Video volume, volume is set at max.

Windows 8.1

Movie Maker 2012 build 16.4.3508.0205

.mov files are 3 mins long 295mb

.wmv file is 8 min long 62mb

I have read lots of articles but no fixes. Some suggest running fixit but web site says it won't run on my system.

Is there a fix or do I need to purchase a different product (be honest)
