I am running a Windows 8.1 system and I use Movie Maker all the time! It always gave me the following error:



But I found out that if you go:

Right click on Microsoft Movie Maker
Select Properties
Click on the Compatibility tab
And select your system, (Which in my case was Windows 7 because that was the newest system)

And it works! No more errors!
