I am using windows 8.1 and have been trying to use Movie Maker. I downloaded it from Windows essentials a few weeks ago and today I dd an uninstall and reinstall.

I am having numerous problems.

1) I copied a number of .MOV clips into movie maker one at a time, and viewed each clip. After about 10 clips MM froze, the clips went black and I had to use Task Manager to exit the system.

2) MM will not accept .MP4 clips taken with a Braun Action camera. I get a message "movie maker is preparing files.............." and the clip is grey with a clock.

3) MM will not accept .MOV clips taken with a Canon EOS 700D. the clip shows an exclamation mark.

None of these problems existed in Movie Maker Live?
