I have Windows Movie Maker 2012 and Windows Media Player 12. One day, I unknowingly reinstalled Media Player using Windows Update. I configured it using the default configuration. Then I opened a project in Movie Maker and tried to preview the video. The screen was black, and there was no audio (except for the music/recording). When double-clicking a video in the project, I got a message asking me to remove the video from the project, saying "The file might be corrupted or in a format that Movie Maker doesn't recognise.". The error code was 0xC945002D. I tried to open the same video in Media Player, but the screen was also black and there was also no audio. The video worked well in VLC, however. And it used to work in both MM and MP before the incident. I have tried multiple Microsoft Fix It variations without any success, and I have checked for graphics card updates. I have also tried to reinstall MM.

I look forward to a solution.
