I've spent hours creating a project including video, photos, music and text for the past 3 months.

I'd started to review and add captions/text through the project. When re-opening the project last time, without having made any changes to it, some of the audio was missing, some of the captions/text was in the wrong place and most importantly I could not edit any of it, as the storyboard/thumbnails section the right is completely blank although you can still see the black line which indicates where the project is, run along as the movie playing but when you click on it nothing happens and there are no images and no boxes indication audio or captions there either.

I've tried changing the zoom on the bottom right and the size of the Thunbnails in the 'View' tool, to see if this bring the images/captions/audio, etc back in the storyboard/thumbnails view on the right, but when I try to change the size of the Thumbnails it comes up with the following error message 'Sorry Movie Maker had to shut down unexpectedly. Please restart it, then try again. (Error: 0x80070057)"

But when I restart Movie Maker and re-open the project there is still nothing on the right hand side. Funny enough when I go to Thumbnail size, it has changed to size I try to change it too, before it comes up with error message, but there is still nothing on the right/storyboard.

The project is around 2 hours and 5 mins long

It is saved in WLMP format and I've not tried publishing it or saving it in any other format.

The size of the file is 1,257 KB

The videos are in AVCHD, avi, .mts & .mov files.

The audio files are MPEG-4 and MP3.

The photo files are all JPG.

Since having this issue I have seen in forums that I should have used specific file types which are better for Movie Maker, but I didn't know that when starting project and the issue has started since I've been editing (video/music/captions/text) the project rather than when 've added files.

Is there anything I can do?
