Hi,

We had to migrate from Outlook Express to Microsoft Live.  The problem we are having is that Microsoft Live periodically (not everytime) downloads all the saved messages from our web-based email account (earthlink).  I've head others (yahoo, gmail, etc.) have this same problem.

I am familiar with this feature:

Menu Button | Options | E-mail Accounts | This Mail Account | Properties | Advanced Tab. Uncheck: Leave a copy of messages on the server.

My issue is that with this box checked, Outlook Express always recognized new vs. previously downloaded emails and never duplicated messages during download. This to me is a bug with Microsoft Live, which replaced Outlook Express.  I was hoping both programs worked the same.  I like to keep some messages on the web-based mail server for times when I'm traveling and don't want / need my laptop,  It's also a good additional backup for my email to keep messages on the server.

Again, Live doesn't do this all the time. Just periodically.

Does anyone know if there is a patch to correct this behavior with Microsoft Live?

Thanks!

Richard.
