On Friday June 24, 2015:
1. I attempted to sign into my live.com account. I was told that someone else was possibly using my account (I'm 99% positive this appeared because I was using my live.com account on a different computer).
2. I was told to either confirm a code using the alternative email address I provided or by clicking that I could not verify my account. Because I do not know the password to my alternative email address, I could not get the code that way. Therefore, I clicked that I could not verify my account.
3. I filled out the questionnaire twice. The first time it said that my account was blocked because it did not seem like the account was mine. The second time I received a message saying:
"Congratulations! We have confirmed that you are the owner of XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@live.com. An additional email with a link to reset your password has been sent to this email address."
4. I DID NOT receive a follow up email allowing me the opportunity to reset my password. I have checked my spam folder, trash folder, and went through my entire email and IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN SENT.
5. Since I had already filled out the questionnaire twice, upon my third attempt to fill it out I was told I had tried it too many times and needed to wait 24 hrs before I could fill it out again.
6. I attempted to have a security change and added my cell phone number to the account so I could possibly receive a code through text messaging. Now when I attempt to sign into the live.com account, I am told that there the security change will take 30 days to complete, however I should still be able to use my account without a problem. THIS IS NOT TRUE, SINCE I CANNOT SIGN INTO MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE I WAS NEVER GIVEN THE RE-SET PASSWORD LINK.
ON SATURDAY JULY 25, 2015:
1. I filled out the questionnaire AGAIN (the first attempt on 7/25/15). I was sent an email saying that my account could not be verified thus further blocking my account, AGAIN. Let it be noted, I filled out the questionnaire the EXACT SAME WAY as when I received the confirmation email on 7/24/15.
2. I filled out the questionnaire AGAIN (the second attempt on 7/25/15). Again, I was sent an email saying that the live.com account was not mine. Let it be noted, I filled out the questionnaire the EXACT SAME WAY as when I received the confirmation email on 7/24/15.
3. Since I could not post a question without a Microsoft account, I made a temporary account so I could post my question in hopes of gaining access to my live.com account.
4. I would like for it to be noted that the customer service for Microsoft is atrocious and I will be deleting both outlook and windows live mail accounts as soon as I am able to access the live.com account because jumping through all these circles is absolutely ridiculous.
I would appreciate some prompt customer service in this matter. Thank you.
