I recently renewed my MCSE certification.  When logging into the MCP website to view certification related information, the site auto-associated my Hotmail account with my MCP page/login.  Ever since then, when using my Microsoft credentials (for anything)  I receive the following error once logged in: "It looks like someone else might be using your account".

I know for sure what it says and what is really happening behind the scene are two different things, but that is just a generic Microsoft message.

What I have done:

-- I have attempted the procedure to send a security code to my phone associated with my account (more than 5 times already), only to receive the security code, enter the security code, which then gets me to the point where I am allowed to specify a new password.  Then it brings me to a login screen, where the new password is entered ...ONLY to get the same message yet again: "It looks like someone else might be using your account" (again, I have tried this over 5 times)

-- I have filled out the security form (2 times already), only to be followed by a generic email (see below) with a link to the sign on page I referred to using above (5 times already).  Not following the remediation logic here at all:

After reviewing the information you provided and looking at your account details, I have determined that the Microsoft Account Public Moderators can best address your concern. They are experts in your field of inquiry and would be in a better position to address your concern.

You may post your concern through the following link:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/liveid-signin

We appreciate your continued patience and look forward to resolving this issue as quickly as possible.

After responding to the email, I would receive an email stating:

As previously stated, the Microsoft Account Public Moderators can best address your concern.  Due to this reason I am closing your case, and any future requests for this issue will not be responded to.

Sincerely,

Geraldine

When I attempted to respond to that email, I discovered my email address had now been blocked, so any further explanation was impossible:

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

*** Email address is removed for privacy ***
Your message can't be delivered because delivery to this address is restricted.

--Additionally, I have called in to the "help" desk (several times), Windows Live ID team, Customer Care, as well as the MCP team (as it affects that access as well), and opened several cases, only to have it closed with no resolution.  It seems when they are unable to fix something, they just close the ticket.  Imagine if all Microsoft professionals did the same thing.  I think everyone would turn to Linux then, as I have seriously been considering based on the direction service has been heading.

--I have provided alternate email addresses, answers to the security questions, subjects of recent emails, the phone number associated with the account, etc.!!!   ....and of course, if you look in the mailbox itself and do a search, you will see my name ALL THROUGHOUT, especially in the most important part...the signature.  A no brainer there.

--I have created an alternate email account, in conjunction with help from the MCP team to gain access to my MCP page as a work around, but definitely not a resolution to the underlying issue with my original account I am still not able to use.  I need to regain access as soon as possible, as I have companies sending me potential jobs I have bills that are linked to this hotmail account, as well as other accounts.

--Looking through the FAQ and Forums, as well as the comment boards....I have found MANY others having had the same issue, and are just as disappointed with the service as I am.

**After over two weeks of round robin with an aPATHETIC team, and a barrage of generic emails, with links to the login pages (like I haven't been there before), as well as this page, and my favorite... an email stating they are closing the case.  Here are a few of the links I have cut from emails I have received:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/liveid-signin

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/hotmail/hacked-account-faq

https://account.live.com/resetpassword.aspx

Additionally I have requested a phone number where I may file a complaint, because a company should be made away of its detrimental business practices such as these.  The number I was provided was the following number: 1-888-346-5229, which just rings until it disconnects. No one ever answers.  The Windows live ID team number I was provided: 1-877-635-7019 always has a busy tone (no auto-attendant, call waiting, or voicemail)

...and this is JUST an outline of the absolute nonsense I have had to wade through, to be polite.  Makes me laugh (cynically of course)  every time I hear the monotone programmed phrase "I understand your frustration", because I can guarantee they can't even come close to understanding.

So...team, where do we go from here?
