Greetings,

My initial problem while running WLM 2011 was that while message would show in the preview pane they could not be opened. The computer is running Windows 7 sp1 with the most recent patches/updates, Norton and Malware bytes detect no malware, Thunderbird functions normally. Now I can't open WLM except when running it as an administrator, contacts have also vanished. These are the steps I've taken so far:

1. Using the advice on another thread in this forum I used the command line esentutl.exe -d "%userprofile%AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live MailMail.MSMessageStore" to defragment the database, this resulted in not being able to open WLM at all with an error message that the mailbox was being used by another program error code 0x800C0155, 2. I was able to use WLM successfully by running it as an administrator although the contacts were still gone (I have backups so not a real problem).

2. Attempted to repair WLM using the control panel, no luck.

3. Uninstalled and reinstalled WLM using the control panel, no luck.

4.  Uninstalled and reinstalled all of Windows Essentials, no luck.

5. I removed Windows Essentials using the command line, and also manually removed the Windows Live program folders. The reinstall is now WLM 2012, still the same 0x800C0155, 2 error message.

What should I try now? I can generate a log file as an administrator.

Thanks,

Don
