Lost emails

I was just "organizing" my latest batch of emails and as I was doing it, all but four of the messages in my inbox disappeared.  They just vanished.  I had emails in there going back at least to 2009.  IMPORTANT emails.  Is there a current problem with outlook.com??

And it is not a problem with "deleted" emails as when I try the "recover deleted emails", it comes back with no emails being recovered when I know I just deleted several emails so at least the ones I deleted should be there some where.
