I have recently purchased a new computer with Windows 8 and I have had this upgraded to 8.1.  All has gone reasonably well with no major insurmountable problems (except the one mentioned at the bottom of this note) until two days ago:

1.   My contact list that I imported from my old computer to WLM has disappeared.  I have tracked in down on the People website but cannot get it back into the contacts folder.  There is therefore no address when you start typing the name for regular contacts on an e-mail.

There was a list with the words Contacts, Calendar, etc. but that has disappeared.  The icons are still at the bottom left of the page and when I click on the contacts icon I am told there are no contacts listed.

2,  My calendar disappeared.  When I clicked on the icon (the word had also disappeared from bottom left), I got a blank calendar.  I filled this in with the latest entries two days ago.  Today I click on the icon and get the previous calendar without a large number of new events I had just entered on the new one.

My other problem relates to data consumption.   For three years I have had a contract that provided me with 2GB of data per month.  Never once did I use this all up and I always had a fair amount of data.   I am not using the net or e-mails any more than I have done in the past (probably a lot less) and my data has run out after every 10 to twelve days and top up data is very expensive for me as a pensioner.  I cannot even look at my old e-mails without being reminded by a pop up that there are problems because I am not connected. I am a pensioner working on one computer.  I do not need to link up with computers on the other side of the world or even across the street.

PLEASE HELP SORT OUT THE CONTACTS AND THE CALENDAR.

PLEASE INFORM ME WHY DATA CONSUMPTION HAS INCREASED CONSIDERABLY AND ADVISE ME ON HOW TO AVOID IT OTHER THEN CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING EVERY TIME I DO ANYTHING.

Many thanks.

Lionel Heath
