This is weird. Recently I signed up for Microsoft Account which seems to synchronise Windows Live Mail on 3 of my computers. I have a laptop dual booted for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 and have just bought a Desktop PC with Windows 8.1 onto which I installed Windows Live Mail. All seemed OK, my contact list on both Windows 8.1 machines looked OK including my categories (groups) which had the number of members in each group in blue, in brackets beside the group title.
I attempted a new email which I intended to send to one of the groups and put the group name in the address field which, as usual was preceded by a blue + sign. Previously when clicking on this plus sign all the members of the group are displayed in the address field. NOT NOW, no names appear at all!
Does anyone know why this happens, and even better, how to fix it?
It just so happens this problem is ONLY with Windows 8.1, when I use windows 7 on the other partition of the laptop I find WLM is synchronised and when I compose a new email sending to a group works perfectly, i.e clicking the blue + sign shows all the members of the group as one would expect.
Now I will have to rebuild Categories (groups) re-identifying each one with a number 1. Fortunately having more than one computer I can refer to one while rebuilding the categories on the other. I expect I'll have to go through all this again when Windows 10 starts.
