Recently, without any input from me, several months of email was moved from the inbox to the deleted items folder. This happened as I watched and the deletions rippled down the page rather like the departure boards at a rail terminus. The deletions did not start at the latest date but at emails dated about one month earlier. In this instant I was able to move all of the deleted items back into the inbox.

Today however, two important emails from the same local company vanished as I watched before I could even open them. This time they are nowhere to be found - they have simply vanished.

I have proper anti-virus and other protection installed and am running Windows 10 fully updated etc.

This is very worrying as I fear outside interference - can anyone please advise?
