I am using live mail 2011 on a laptop running Windows 7, and it works just fine when I am normally on my wi-fi network.

I also have no problems using an air-card or other remote hot-spot wi-fi devices with reasonable bandwidth.

However, I am trying to use a satellite phone wi-fi device and I get the dreaded error: 0x80048848.

Now I KNOW that the reason for this is that I'm not getting an "internet connection".

But I AM getting an internet connection - I can use Internet Explorer just fine.

But I get this error trying to go into Live Mail.

I SUSPECT STRONGLY that the reason is that the connection is so slow (very low bandwidth since it's a satellite phone) that perhaps Live Mail is "timing out" and therefore I get this error (I get it after about 30 seconds or so).

But I can not figure out how to change the "default timeout period" (if there even is such a thing).

If I could, I would change it to, say, 60 seconds, and I think my problem would be solved.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanks

Dave
