I have been using Windows Live Mail for many years. It has an excellent display layout and allows easy movement of messages to subfolders. Based upon the notices from Microsoft regarding discontinuing support for Live Mail in June, I set up the mail app in Windows 10. I find the display layout to be busy and unfriendly. Since all subfolders a not shown for my hotmail account, my live mail account, or my POP3 account, moving messages is cumbersome.
After some research I found Mozilla's Thunderbird app to be very similar to the Live Mail that Microsoft is abandoning. I installed and synced my Live Mail accounts to Thunderbird. After Live Mail is discontinued will I be able to send and receive emails using the Thunderbird app? Will all of my old emails still be available to view in Thunderbird?
Also since both my hotmail and live accounts require an annual fee will any refund be forthcoming?
