Every time I try to send an email in Live Mail 2012 the message goes to the Outbox and doesn't get sent.  I have read some of the suggestions given to others with this problem, such as moving the outgoing messages to a new folder and deleting the Outbox.  However, I can't delete the Outbox because that option is grayed out.  Another suggestion was to make a new folder, move all Inbox messages to it, make another new folder, move sent messages to that and delete the Sent folder.  But the Sent folder is also grayed out.  If I exit Live Mail a message box pops up telling me that there are messages in the Outbox and do I want to send them.  When I say yes an error box pops up after several seconds.  The error is:

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'test moved messages'
Server: 'smtp-mail.outlook.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10013

I have tried Port 25, Port 887 and Port 587 for outgoing messages and this error pops up every time.  Obviously, I cannot send myself a message via Live Mail because it goes immediately to the Outbox and sits there.  However, I can send a message to myself via Outlook.com and some time later it will appear in Live Mail's inbox.  I much prefer Live Mail as an email client and would like to get this problem resolved.

Any help will be appreciated.
