I have recently purchased a new PC with Windows 8.1 installed. I've been used to managing my photos on Windows Live Photo Gallery on my previous PC so installed the most recent version to use with Windows 8.1.
I've noticed that with 8.1 you can add removable storage to libraries so I have added my USB drive where I store all of my photos and under Manage Libraries it is showing as present in my picture library. However when I open Live Photo Gallery it is not showing in the side navigation. When I go into "Include folder in gallery it appears in the list, but none of my photos are showing.
I know that Windows Live Gallery was not previously compatible with removable storage, but I had previously used the workaround that I would add a drive path in a location on my C:\ drive. When I try this now I am greeted with the message "this folder cannot be included because it is on a removable device".
It seems as though 8.1 has added the ability to include removable storage in libraries, but this functionality has not been updated for Windows Live Photo Gallery?
My Live Essentials software is up-to-date and I have run the repair tool.
