I just bought a new laptop

Since a long time I use Windows Photo gallery.

With Windows 8.1, I had to search in the store to find Windows Photo gallery.

It was not installed natively. So I downloaded a Windows Essential from 2012.

What was installed natively on my laptop was Photo, an app which pops out automatically when you import photos, ie from my Windows Phone.

I have two questions:

1 is this new 'photo' app replacing the old Windows Photo Gallery.

2 The photos taken with my Windows Phone are automatically transferred to my Outlook cloud. There also there is a 'Photo' app which pops out.

However those new 'photo' from MS  apps are far from presenting the characteristics of Windows Photo Gallery as far as editing, copying, reducing the size ... is concerned.

Any litterature to read on that subject.
