This is a Dell PC running Windows 7 with Family Safety version of Build 16.4.3505.0912.

Because this PC is in the common area, there is no PC restriction, game restriction, time restriction. Only thing turned on is activity reporting and web filtering. The web filtering is set at "Online communication (basic)", the most liberal setting that blocks adult sites.

My child mostly uses Google Chrome. The top 2 sites used are youtube.com for listening to music and schoolloop.com for his school stuff.

He can be doing his homework and listening to some music, and then suddenly, Google Chrome will report it cannot open page (connection reset or such message). Chrome browser cannot connect to schoolloop.com, and cannot connect to youtube.com. And maybe 10 or 15 minutes later, it will come back. And a little later, maybe everything will stop again.

Using IE doesn't help, either.

The machine has Windows Update enabled and permitted to auto-update. So updating is not an issue.

I can ping schoolloop.com, but webbrowser traffic is being blocked. With another laptop next to him, I can visit all these sites he needs to do his homework. It is very obvious, something is wrong with Microsoft Family Safety to exhibit this kind of behaviour.

This has really rendered it impossible to use the computer, defeating the purpose completely. My child has to use our computer loggined in as adults to do his computer work.

Heard of such intermittent connection reset / blocking problem before from other users? How to fix such problems?
