I am trying to import DV video from my Canon MD101 video camcorder to Movie Maker via a firewire connection and a PCMCIA card adapter.  The transfer of video starts OK but anywhere between 30 seconds and 2 minutes int the transfer it just freezes.

My computer is an Acer 5730 laptop and there is over 200GB of space on the disk I am trying to transfer to.  I have DirectX 11 installed.  I am using Windows 7 Professional.

Can anyone advise me, please ?
