Images embedded into emails not showing

I just want to add another message about the images not showing up in the body of email messages problem.  I too am having ongoing issues with images not showing in the body of my email. ie. "insert picture inline".  As per the numerous suggestions offered to other posters experiencing similar issues: 

1. I have cleared the cache multiple times
 
2. I have the problem across multiple browsers chrome/IE/Firefox. 

3. I have silverlight installed. 

4. I have tried changing the settings to group by conversation and preload images and the reset the setting the other way - neither option helps.

5. I shouldn't have to worry about safe sender, as I am the sender and I can't see the images on emails that I have sent.  

6. I have always been able to insert an image that lives on my computer ie. in one of my photograph files/folders. I have never had to upload the image to another site in order to share it. 

I use images/gifs ALL the time in the body of my emails and this is a real deal breaker for me. I went to GMAIL and came back, but already, am regretting it. These issues are being talked about all over the internet, please give us the fix!
