"it looks like someone else might be using your account" instead of giving me access to the mailbox. It asks me to type in some sort of security code which it wants to send to the alt email associated to it. The problem is that the associated email no longer seems to exist(old windowslive account) however the validation system doesn't seem to detect that and still wants to send it to a nonexisting account.
After that I tried using the provided account recovery option which requires you to fill in a validation form to access your account. The problem is that most of the questions it asks are ones I can't answer, this is an account I mostly used for registrations at different sites and for receiving emails yet it asks me stuff like last emails I sent or their recipients. I also didn't give it personal info like birth date and such because I didn't think it has much point with this account especially because at the time I've never encountered an account which needed anything more than your password for validation.
I think I can provide more than enough evidence that the account is mine.
For example even though the alt email no longer seems to exist(I still know the address however) I've attached the live account with a more recent and fully functional gmail account of mine before I got locked out and I can still see the old accounts inbox. I can provide info on the sites and accounts its associated with and the contents of the mails it received, the address of the attached email etc. I just don't know why I can't use any of the info which'd obviously tell that I'm the accounts owner with the form. The only info it cares about is either very private details or messages that I've sent for some reason.
So yeah is there anybody who could help me with this situaton?
